The Psychic Medium Hall Of Fame: 3 Notable Psychic Mediums Of All Time

By Tana Hoy

Since the time of our earliest ancestors, a psychic medium has always been known for their unique ability to communicate with the spirit world. A psychic medium has been sought for powerful seances and general guidance.

Parapsychology studies show that there is quite a lengthy list of psychic mediums who have made milestones through the years. However, only 3 names have made a gigantic impact on history. These 3 psychic mediums are Daniel Douglas Homes, Mina Crandon, and Leonora Piper.

The Top 3 Psychic Mediums Of All Time

DANIEL DOUGLAS HOMES: "THE PSYCHIC MEDIUM WHO COULD FLY"

Daniel Douglas Homes, a Scottish Spiritualist is the most famous psychic medium of all time. He is a well-known physical medium with the reported ability to levitate to a variety of heights, and the talent to speak with the spirits of those who have passed on.

Since he was a baby, Homes exhibited very powerful psychic abilities. It was said that his cradle would be seen rocking by itself, as if invisible hands were moving it! Apart from these, there were also a lot of instances during his childhood in where he foretold a number of events that materialized later on.

This Scottish Spiritualist spent most of his life traveling the world and sharing with others his gifts as a psychic medium by conducting seances out in the open and in public places. However, the highlight of his career as a psychic medium was during one particular seance in August 1852 in Connecticut where he defied even the laws of gravity and levitated into the air!

MINA "MARGERY" CRANDON: "THE PSYCHIC MEDIUM WHO WAS HOUDINI'S GREATEST NEMESIS"

Mina Crandon, who was often referred to as "Margery Crandon", was a psychic medium who got entangled with one of the most bitter controversial issues in American psychic research. This Boston psychic medium was also said to be the rival of famous magician Harry Houdini.

Margery did not show any signs of any psychic ability in the early years of her life. However, one particular visit to a psychic revealed that she possessed supernatural powers. It was foretold that a laughing young man was attempting to contact her from the spiritual realm. Later on, that person turned out to be her brother Walter, who had passed away in 1911 in a railway accident. Eventually, Walter became her spirit guide, and they hand in hand took on worldwide fame.

LEONORA PIPER: "THE ONE WHITE CROW"

Leonora Evelina Simonds Piper was considered one of the most impressive trance mediums in recorded history. Leonora was married to Professor William James of Harvard, one of America's greatest psychologist - philosophers. Her husband believed that she was an honest Spiritualist psychic medium unlike others, and he referred to her as the "One White Crow."

The highlight that started Leonora Piper's career as a psychic medium was in 1884 after her father-in-law took her for a medical consultation with J.R. Cook, a blind clairvoyant who was making a living through psychic cures. Leonora Piper lost consciousness at Cook's touch and went into a trance of her own. At a later date, she attended a home circle sitting with him and again went into another trance. This time, she presented a message for one of the other individuals in the session -- who regarded it to be the most precise message he had ever gotten during his 30 year interest in Spiritualism.

These people are just 3 of the many renowned psychic mediums who have made names in history. Exactly like everything else in this world, history is created every day; and who knows -- maybe at this very instant there is another powerful psychic medium out there creating history as we speak!
