Astrology and the New Age Movement On the web

By Gilbert Karlis

As the New Age movement is in accordance with the belief that everything and everybody during the universe is spiritually interconnected, that idea lends itself to a wide range of beliefs which promote it, including the connection of everything within the cosmos, mystical power referred to as "energy" or "energy fields," and, of course, astrology. One particular type of astrology, extremely several in the usual types which are far more well-known, is much aligned towards the New Age movement and its beliefs; it is called Karmic astrology.

Founded by Martin Shulman, belief in karmic astrology is based on the concept of karma what 1 specific individual sees and perceives is several from what one more specific individual sees or experiences during the same situation, due to every having his or her individual life lessons to process, lessons which were not satisfactorily processed in one's past lives. Rather than assessing the differences of individual persons as becoming as a result of each getting his or her own certain personality, mind and emotions, karmic astrology stresses that it's a matter of 1 owning not correctly fulfilled his karmic role in his previous lives. Karmic astrology may be the only type of astrology which bases its conclusions on reincarnation; and that one's actual influence, which covers everything from one's opinions to one's approaches of experience, just isn't coming from one's present-day life, it is coming from one's past.

The kinds of astrology which most individuals are familiar with Western astrology, Chinese astrology, Indian or Vedic astrology emphasizes the events in a person's life and how to affect positive direction. Karmic astrology, however, views the individual's life as that which has been reincarnated for your function of completing that which had not been completed in his previous life aspects of himself and his life which he need to improve, change, and grow.

In tune with this notion are New Age practices just like "alternative" medicine, which eat many non-medical angles such as herbs and massage during the treatment of medical conditions, and, even far more strongly stressed, and even in the absence of any this sort of diseases or conditions, focusing on the person person's must "heal."

Although it has not been categorically explained, it appears that placing these kinds of a strong emphasis on the person's must heal is according to the New Age movement's view of reincarnation that merely getting in this life coincides on the Karmic belief that somebody has not gained closure from whatever came before. Consequently, karmic astrology differs inside additional widely-accepted varieties of astrology in that though the focus in the latter is on charting the course of the person's life and guiding direction to your person's most effective possible potential, the focus of karmic astrology is essentially on "fixing what's wrong with" a person.

As such, individuals who claim to become professionals in the scope of karmic astrology are far different within the more regular astrologers, preferring terminology including "healing" and also the misuse of other esoteric language, often known as "psychobabble." In other words, karmic astrology bears extremely tiny resemblance towards concepts and practices which most individuals know as Astrology.
