Astrology, Venus, Kathryn Bigelow as well as the Oscars

By Sathji Umanga

As far as I can see, the big, ground-breaking news is that a woman has won the best Director award. This can be big news due to the fact it is in no way happened prior to - which is relatively amazing, given that the Oscars have been close to due to the fact the late 1920s.

To be much more specific, this year Kathryn Bigelow got the Oscar for Greatest Director. Her film, The Hurt Locker, is about a bomb disposal team in Iraq.

Kathryn Bigelow was born on November 27 1951, which makes her a Sagittarian. In general Sagittarians, and the other Fire signs of Aries and Leo, make good film directors. It's because they can quite literally see the big picture, and they know how to bring everything together, so that inspiration and vision can be mirrored within the celluloid (or digital) fact of a film.

However I do not think that Kathryn Bigelow is totally regular of her star sign. She has the Moon in Scorpio, and as I hold saying, in a female horoscope the Moon is often additional critical than the Sun. So of the Moon in Scorpio she most likely has an introverted streak, and has strong feelings, that other persons mightn't be fully aware of.

Yet I do not wish to dwell too significantly over a details of her horoscope. Rather, I want to contemplate what was heading on astrologically at the time in the Oscar ceremonies.

The ceremonies were on Sunday March 7, in the evening, Pacific Standard Time. And early that morning, at 4.33 am PST, the planet Venus entered Aries.

Venus stands out as the natural world of women, and Aries is often a sign that's extremely assertive. So you've the signature of the successful woman. Furthermore, on March 7 Venus was generating a close, 120-degree aspect to Mars, the entire world of assertion and dynamism.

If you are into traditional astrology, one more issue would be Venus' mutual reception by exaltation with the Sun. This means that Venus and the Sun had been in the sign of every other's exaltation. I won't go to the details, but eat it from me, it gives Venus lots of strength.

All of this fits in extremely well with a woman being awarded a prize that were a male keep simply because the 1920s. Particularly as Venus was incredibly around zero degrees Aries, a point in space that is certainly associated in the globe at large.

If I had been trying to predict who would win the Oscar for Very best Director, I'm pretty sure I would have gone for Kathryn Bigelow, with no even searching at her horoscope. The position of Venus was amazing, and it seemed extremely most likely that a woman was going to be very successful.

But possibly I nearly predicted it? Here's what I wrote on my web site about Venus' modern position, prior to the outcomes had been announced:

Venus is often a globe that may be connected with women, and Aries is a sign which is assertive and 'in your face'. So women can benefit in the situation, and they'll have no difficulty getting the attention from the men in their lives. Also, inside a competitive situation, women have the advantage.
