Psychic Readings: 7 Warning Flags That a Con Artist is at Play

By Tana Hoy

Psychic readings are the most famous psychic services today. At the moment, it's so quick to have psychic readings done -- there are even psychic readers who can give their expertise while you are loving the comforts of your home. Yes, due to the increasing interest for psychic readings, you can conveniently get them even via the phone.

Though it is great news that it's quick to find a psychic for your needs, we cannot deny the truth that not all who claim to be psychics are indeed genuine psychic readers. Undoubtedly you want your psychic readings to be real and worth your time and what you pay for.

7 Red Flags that Psychic Readings are given by a Fake Psychic

Who wants to be given a reading by a fraud? Surely no one -- after all, we seek psychic readings for guidance and better insights in life, and not for the reason that we want to get misled even more. Here are 7 red flags to watch out for when getting your psychic readings done:

Red Flag #1: THE PSYCHIC ATTIRE, COSTUME, PROPS, AND ALL THAT JAZZ. If you are getting a face to face reading, and you'd find your reader to be wearing costumes like one of those psychics you'd see in movies and all, be alert. Fact is, 8 out of 10 genuine psychics do not dress up that "fancy" when they give psychic readings. Remember, psychics are just like you and me -- human beings so they will look "normal" and they usually just casually dress. In addition, they don't talk in any weird sounding accent (there are some frauds out there who talk in a weird sounding accent as if they keep chanting what they say).

Red Flag #2: THE "YES AND NO RULE." Psychic readings SHOULD NOT only answer "yes or no" questions. A real psychic can provide you answers to any open ended questions you have. But of course, do not expect that the psychic will tell you the winning lottery numbers!

Red Flag #3: JUST ANOTHER COLD READING. Cold readings are those readings wherein information is received by means of the induction method. Generally, fakers use induction to learn more about the subject -- they see the physical aspects about a person and interpret it. For example saying someone is happily married soon after seeing a wedding ring on his finger, or saying that a person has had a rough night when it's quite obvious from that person's looks that he did have one.

Red Flag #4: THE GUESSING GAMES. This is one evident indication of a fraud. If your reader goes "do you know a Jimmy? a Mary? a Paul?..." or "you are 24, 25, 26...years old" and so on until she or he gets a confirmation from you, that certainly is a sign of the guessing game at play.

Red Flag #5: THE BRAGGING READER. Genuine psychics trust and believe in their psychic powers, above anything else. Therefore, they do not go bluntly showing off about what they have achieved and what they are capable to do. They won't also look so desperate to win your trust by hoping to prove their abilities by showing it with a deck of cards, or bending spoons, among many other stunts.

Red Flag #6: THE USELESS READER. Psychic readings are meant to be the best form of advice in life. If what your reader is stating does not make any sense at all, then you might possibly be discussing with a fake. Genuine readers will even give you suggestions on how to face the challenge ahead. Don't forget, psychic readings should enlighten, not make everything more confusing.

Red Flag #7: PRICES OF PSYCHIC READINGS. This is the most evident sign of a fraud. Quality psychic readings can seriously cost you approximately $250 to even $500 for a visit (usually a minimum of 30 minutes per session). Yes, they can cost much more -- the reason being what you're dealing with is the genuine thing, and you get a comprehensive and specific reading -- health, love, career, etc. Those offerings for psychic readings you see at carnivals or booths at a fair can be sketchy at times because not only are they done very promptly; they're pretty generic as well.

So how can you keep away from getting psychic readings from scammers? As they say prevention is better than cure -- the secret to find very good psychic readings is of course, to first of all find a reputable psychic.
