Psychic Senses - What Are They?

By Tana Hoy

When we talk about the psychic topic, we always associate it with something extraordinary. We consider a psychic individual as out of the ordinary, in comparison to regular human beings. However, come to think of it, they're also human, like us. Nevertheless, they are considered special. You may ask -- how come, what do these psychics possess that makes them stand out from the crowd?

Let us first start with a definition of what psychics are, before we see how they are any different from regular people. It is clearly defined that psychic is a person who is known to possess extrasensory perception or as commonly known -- ESP . They do extraordinary things with the psychic senses which they possess, that is why they are considered gifted individuals. There are 6 psychic senses that make psychics stand out from others, these 6 are as follows:

CLAIRVOYANCE. From the French word "clair" meaning "clear" and "voyance" meaning "vision", clairvoyance gives the psychic, the ability to see beyond time and space. It allows these psychics to see the past, present and the future. This ability is often used by psychics to give readings. However, there are also some rare instances in where clairvoyance is paired with a strong degree of the sixth sense, which allows the psychics to see spiritual beings as well.

CLAIRAUDIENCE. The gift of clairaudience originated from two French words, "clair" meaning "clear" and "audience" meaning "hearing". With this psychic sense, the individual can acquire information about a person, object, place, or event, by means of paranormal auditory. In some cases, they usually hear voices from spiritual entities.

CLAIRSENTIENCE. Clairsentience refers to the "gut feeling" of a psychic. It is their ability to read energy vibrations of a person, object, event, or place.

CLAIRLALIENCE. Clairlalience is associated with the sense pf smelling. With this ability, psychics are able to smell the spirit while he was still living. To give us an example, a psychic can smell the scent of tobacco, which could mean that the spirit while still alive is a smoker or died due to smoking.

CLAIRGUSTANCE. This kind of ESP refers to extraordinary tasting. With a strong degree of clairgustance, a psychic is able to perceive the essence of a substance from the spiritual sphere by taste.

CLAIRCOGNIZANCE. The final sense a psychic may possess is claircognizance, which means "clear knowing". Psychics have the special ability to just simply know things without any scientific or logical explanation at all.

A psychic may possess one or more psychic senses, some may even have a powerful combination of all six! It is through these special senses, that these psychics are able to accomplish the remarkable things that they are able to do. However, what many people are unaware of, is that every person has an innate psychic side within, but these hidden talents are yet to be discovered.
