The Accuracy of Psychic Readings

By Linda Cowell

Automatic writing is a specific tool for psychic readings that has been used since the 1840s. It is, at its essence, writing performed by someone is in a trance. The messages are believed to be attributed to spirits of the deceased, who either impart their message into the mind of the psychic, or (as some believe) take possession of the psychic's physical body and use it to write the message themselves. Automatic writing is one means by which mediums serve as conduits between knowledge seekers and the spirit world. However most people dont believe in this but after reading this article you might have different thoughts!

Although simple white cups are the vessel of choice for many practitioners, other traditions regarding the significance of the various locations of the leaves cause some diviners to prefer marked cups. Since the late 1800s manufacturers have designed and produced decorated cup and saucer sets with the specific needs of tasseomancers in mind. These sets are manufactured in a dizzying array of designs, but the most common are playing card sets, symbol sets, and the so-called zodiac sets. Each set is designed to provide the diviner with even greater information to interpret during their psychic readings.

Playing cards sets consist of cups with tiny images of playing cards imprinted on the interior and saucers with either card images or interpretations on them. The intent of these sets is to assist the reader in utilizing cartomancy in addition to tasseomancy, thus enhancing the potency of any psychic readings. Symbol sets are decorated with some of the more common images found in tea leaves, and are believed to further focus the intuition of the diviner. Zodiac sets are some of the most beautiful, with the interior of the cups designed with the symbols of the planets, and the saucers generally decorated with the astrological signs. Obviously, the zodiac set was created for the purpose of combining the energies of astrology with tasseomancy.

Others doubt the accuracy of psychic readings after visiting a psychic to discover information about their relationship and receiving information about their career instead. We as human beings are impatient seekers of instant gratification. We want what we want when we want it. The universe, however, has no interest in our immediate desires - it concerns itself with our true needs. If you have received information about work when you sought insight into love, it has nothing to do with the accuracy of the psychic. The truth is that the spirits consulted have provided you with what you need for that time in your life.

One notion held by many researchers is that when the medium enters into the trance-like state, his or her deeper subconscious is opened, and that the messages delivered are actually obtained from within the psychic's own mind. Though this theory may hold some validity, similar arguments could be made against nearly every other form of psychic divination. Moreover, the theory fails to account for any psychic who, during psychic readings, channels messages containing information beyond the medium's scope of experience.
