Capricorn full Moon Lunar Eclipse & solar in most cancers (July 7-2009)

A Life of Dichotomy

Astrology gives us a program to realize and make sense out from the polarities of our dual existence. There is usually an opposite of what we can perceive! Light to darkness, adore to fear, expansion and contraction; you can find examples for it on all levels of physical creation.

When I glimpse into a chart and how the planets are dispersed in it, I usually give attention towards opposite sign because it holds the key to balance. Every wheel from the zodiac shows the thing on the potentiality of oneness in the center. We can indeed tap into that issue of transcendence of the outer themes indicated by the 12 signs about the center. We can attain that by paying attention to the opposite sign. Each sign and its expression in our life will only be complete and balanced by having integrated the opposing qualities in the opposite sign.

The Importance of the Capricorn Full Moon Lunar Eclipse & Sun in Cancer

When we look at the Sun as well as the Moon we contemplate a couple of opposing forces. The Sun is representing our male expression, our conscious mind, the way we express ourselves through our actions and our self image and identity. We are aware on the Sun like a conscious, life giving force for all of us.

The Moon is representing our female receptivity, our unconscious mind and might surprise us once inside a though with emotions rising up and flooding our experience out of the blue as it seems. Moon is our way of perceiving the globe through our feelings and connects us with an enormous field of potentiality during the collective unconsciousness. That way Moon is feeding our creativity and fills our well with delicious new thoughts and ideas.

But we have an additional pair of opposing forces here with Capricorn and Cancer. The Moon is the ruler with the Cancer sign and is situated in its opposing sign for this Full Moon. This will shake us up and stir the pot! New Moons and Full Moons are commonly much enhanced issues of emotional impact to start with. It is very great for our personal conscious attunement from the universal forces to retain an eye over a changing Moon throughout the month.

The Capricorn Lunar Eclipse

During a Lunar Eclipse the earth is between the Sun and the Moon blocking the light radiating from the Sun to become reflected by the Moon. There is a moment of interruption on the familiar flow of consciousness and with it a chance of waking up from our normal, quite patterned and habituated flow of thoughts and self-expression.

It has been mentioned that a lunar eclipse brings up the shadow side with the sign it's in and with it a time of adjustment and integration. That may be true, but even a lot more so this time around, of the power of consciousness on the Sun within the opposing sign Capricorn governed by the Moon.
